Parker Cottage Room Rates and Terms
PAYMENTWe accept payment by EFT, PayPal, Mastercard and Visa card. We generally do not accept IBAN payments, American Express or Diner's Club although exceptions can be made for a fee equal to the banking charges associated with the transaction. Please note that regardless of how deposits/accounts are paid, all bookings must be accompanied by credit card details valid until the last day of the booking. CHILDREN
We’re sorry to say that we don’t accept children under the age of 9 at Parker Cottage: the house was not designed as a guesthouse so noise can travel between rooms. In addition, the corridors have old wooden floors that tend to resonate when little people run along them and the house is full of antiques with sharp glass and stone edges about face height for little ones. For these reasons, we don’t think the experience of having young children at Parker Cottage will be a relaxing one, either for you or your children! To confirm a booking, we ask you for a 50% deposit. This is non refundable. We also require a valid credit card number at the time of the booking, whether or not the deposit is paid by credit card. We do recommend that you purchase travel insurance to protect you from unnecessary costs resulting from cancellations.
LATE CHECK OUTSWhilst we’re very happy to go to midday (1200) for a late check out, if you need your room past this time, we will have to ask you for the full rate for the room. Our housekeepers must normally leave by 14h00 every day to get home to their families and we’re unable to offer a room to other guests which we can’t clean and change. If availability allows, we can offer day rooms for a flat rate of R500 but this can only be confirmed on the day.
LATE CHECK-INSPlease note that for the security of all our guests, we can only accept check-ins after 20h00 if you make use of our driver, Chris Hannival, who has keys to the house and knows our security procedure. He charges between R250 and R350 depending on how late the arrival is and the number of guests.
FESTIVE SEASONPlease note that we have a minimum 5 night stay over the period 16th December - 10th January every year. This is purely to ensure that our staff, who of course do not ever get a Christmas holiday, get home reasonably early everyday to their families. We ensure this by keeping room changes to a minimum. FAMILY SUITEOur prices for the Family Suite are based on either three adults sharing or two adults and two children between the ages of 9 and 14 sharing. Children over 14 are charged as adults. The suite can accommodate up to four adults or two adults and three children sharing, however there are additional costs. Please contact us for exact rates for your dates. CANCELLATION POLICY:As we are a small establishment, it is sometimes not possible to resell a room at short notice. For cancellations within 14 days of arrival we charge 50% of the total accommodation cost which is equivalent to your 50% deposit. We charge a further 50% in other words 100% of the cost of the booking for cancellation within 7 nights prior to arrival or in the event of a no-show. At our discretion a PRO-RATA refund will be made for any night which we are able to reallocate to a new guest. All refunds are subject to a handling fee of R150. All cancellations must be in writing.
